MASTER GUIDES MINISTRY
Welcome to the official home of the Minnesota Conference Master Guide Club—a ministry of leadership, discipleship, and service for young people ages 16 and older who desire to grow as Christian leaders and dedicate their gifts to serving others. Being a Master Guide is more than completing requirements, earning honors, or wearing a uniform. It is a commitment to follow Jesus and lead others by example.
The apostle Paul challenged young leaders with these words: “Be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12, NKJV
This calling is at the heart of Master Guide ministry. A Master Guide seeks to become a Christ-centered example in the local church—someone whose words, character, relationships, faith, and service point others to Jesus.
Master Guides are trained to serve children and teenagers, especially through Adventurer and Pathfinder Ministries. They help younger generations discover and develop their God-given talents and abilities through classes, honors and awards, outdoor experiences, spiritual growth, leadership, and practical service. Yet our greatest purpose goes beyond teaching skills: we prepare leaders who will disciple others and help a new generation become ready for the soon return of Jesus.
Jesus Himself established the pattern for this kind of leadership: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” — Mark 10:45, NKJV
For this reason, the Master Guide ministry is built around service—to children and youth, to the local church, and to the community. Master Guides are encouraged to actively support their local congregations through evangelism, community outreach, mentoring, Club Ministries, and other opportunities where their leadership can become a blessing to others.
A Master Guide does not simply learn how to lead. A Master Guide learns to serve like Jesus, live as an example, and equip others to become disciples who make disciples.
On this page, you will find resources, requirements, training information, and guidance to help you understand the journey toward becoming an invested Master Guide and continuing to grow as a servant leader in your local church.
