Award winning author Lee Gugliotto, Ph.D. is coming to present a “Christian Lifeskills 101” workshop, May 21-23, 2010 at the Minnesota Christian Men’s Retreat to be held at Lake Beauty Bible Camp! The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association awarded Lee a Gold Medallion, the equivalent of an “Oscar” for Christian writers, for his Handbook for Bible Study (Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1995) proclaiming it the 1996 international, interdenominational Bible study book of the year! Since then, he has written Bible Study Basics (Equip-Enable-Empower Press, 2004), and a fantastic series of QuikStudy and Simplified Empower-tools for small group and personal study, including the highly acclaimed, Ring around the Rabbi, and How to Lead a Home Bible Fellowship with Christ in Charge.
Broad Christian Experience
Lee grew up Roman Catholic in Brooklyn, New York. Converted to Protestantism in Jacksonville, Florida, he pastored for three decades –– before launching a traveling ministry in 2000. Regarded by many as an insightful, practical expositor of the Word, Lee has taught biblical languages and principles of biblical interpretation at several seminaries and currently serves as both Professor of Biblical Interpretation for Griggs University and President of Bible Study Institute of Nevada.
Non-Denominational Ministry
Lee and his wife Jolynn enjoy enabling lay people for ministry and believe that Christ-like service stands on a solid foundation of God’s Word. They frequently present interdenominational Bible Study and Small Group workshops to empower people of all faiths and ages to investigate the Scriptures––alone and together––for themselves. Together, they co-founded Empower Ministries––a non-profit, interdenominational ministry that equips people to connect with the God of the Bible and stay connected––for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
A Pastoral Team with a Worldwide Congregation
The Gugliotto’s have developed EmpowertoolsTM––a complete line of Quikstudy and Simplified Study materials for inductive Bible study and personal prayer––the basic life skills every Christian needs to live and grow in Christ. The response to their presentations is nothing short of remarkable. Equipping people to interact directly with God through His Word––has blossomed into a full-time ministry, compelling the Gugliotto’s to open Bible Study Institute of Nevada––an online, onsite center for training lay people to study Scripture, so they can teach, preach, and counsel from it. The Institute offers many courses––from biblical archaeology, study methods, and languages to creative Christian writing. A speaker-in-demand to youth as well as adults around the world, Lee is also an avid amateur astronomer who develops new and exciting materials for study between travels as president and presenter for Empower Ministries. He and Jolynn make their home in Reno, Nevada where they live with a very large telescope, a mini-wiener dog named “Bambi,”and two feisty cats named “Abby-Tabby” and “Miss Kitty.”

Lake Beauty is located in Central Minnesota 7 miles east of Long Prairie or 17 miles west of Little Falls on MN Highway 27. Look for the blue highway sign that says “Lake Beauty Bible Camp” (near mile marker 119).
Come north about 1½ miles on Lake Beauty Road (315th Avenue) and turn right on Hummingbird Road at the large “Lake Beauty” rock. Continue a short distance to our sign/entrance turning left onto Hummingbird Trail. Follow the curved wooded drive to the main lodge for registration.
Music Worship Team
Each session will begin with worship in song led by the Men’s Retreat Worship Team.
Weekend Features
Treat yourself, your father or son, and a friend to a weekend full of refreshing memory‑making experiences. Relax in Christian fellowship, make a new friend, or enjoy the solitude away from the normal stresses of daily life.
Registration Information
Rates: Dorm (Edlund Center): $120, House: $125, Camping: $95, Commuter: $85 ($10 discount if your registration form & check arrive no later than May 10; add $25 if you plan to participate in the Thursday recreation). You may sign up for 4 to 6 roommates. Each person will have a single bed. If you choose not to bring your own bedding, you may purchase a Linen Package (bedding & towel) for $8.00 (supply is limited).
Retreat begins Friday, May 21, 2010, ending Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
Rooms are available at 5:00 p.m.
